Bekaa Valley Red Chateau Kefraya 750ml
Vintage: | 2019 |
---|---|
Description: | Grapes: 50% Cabernet Sauvignon, 30% Syrah, 20% Cabernet Franc. Region: Lebanon> Bekaa Valley. Notes: High elevation, 30 yr old vines, 12 months in oak. Description: Located in the West Bekaa Valley, the large estate of Château Kefraya has been in the Bustros family's property for generations. The castle was built in 1946 on an artificial hill used by the Romans centuries ago to observe their troop movements. Founder and visionary Michel de Bustros undertook a massive effort to implant Château Kefraya's vineyards on those magnificent hillsides. A sustainable wine-growing policy allows the vines to flourish, while respecting the terroir's expression. The wine displays deep, dark violet color with a burgundy rim. The nose immediately exhibit aromas of savory sage, oregano, and thyme. After a few minutes in the glass, the fruit character starts to exude black currant, plum, and white pepper. High tannic structure and bright acidity upfront gives this wine the impression of a full-bodied wine. However, the mid-palate and finish will show medium weight. This is a well made wine from a very good vintage, I can't wait for a traditional Thanksgiving day meal, will work with lots of meats, herbs, and Mediterranean cuisine. Food pairing: Salmon, vegetables, eggplant, lamb, mushrooms, pate, spicy foods, traditional Thanksgiving, etc. |
