| Description: | With vineyards located down the ridge from Fontodi, this is a delicious, everyday take on the famous Panzano style, with it's warm, earthy (but not overripe) dark-toned fruit profile, accompanied by fragrant cool-toned herbs. There's an elegance in the delivery, rather than overt power of fleshiness, which allows for the complex array of aromas to show themselves more intensely. It's all gently shaped by a moderate structure of vibrant inner acidity and supple tannins. Il Molino di Grace lets their calling-card Chianti Classico show off Sangiovese's character here a bit more than their other wines, with just a touch of polish on the variety's ruggedness by including seasoned small French oak barrels into the mix of aging vessels, which is rounded out by larger oak vats and stainless steel. Aging is for a year, which imbues the fruit character with subtle hints of cedar and oak spice. The vineyards that now produce Il Molino di Graces wine have been doing so for over three and half centuries. Harvested first by monks from the local monastary, these Chianti Classico vineyards have amazed winemakers and wine enthusiasts every harvest since.
