A gorgeous rosé Champagne with sliced strawberries, orange peel and hints of cream and pie crust. Medium body, tight and integrated tannins and a long and flavorful finish. Tangy acidity. The texture shows a fine bead and lightness. Long and intense. Drink now. – James Suckling. So much about this Champagne is worth it: The quality is consistent and excellent, the price is manageable, the story is great, and the color is so inviting. Since hopping onto the rosé train in the '70s, Billecart has perfected the crowd-pleasing bubbly pink. It hits all the right places on the palate. The aromas on the nose are in harmony with pastry dough notes and flavors of deep, ripe strawberries. The palate presents soft bubbles, showcasing a pillowy, creamy palate. The finish has a slight dryness that readies you for the next sip. - Vinepair. Pale yet intense pink in color, the Billecart-Salmon Nv Brut Rosé is pure, fresh and intense on the nose, with lovely raspberry aromas, refreshing citrus zest flavors and great definition. On the palate this is a pure, light and vinous rosé with great finesse and a long, well-structured and even juicy finish. This iconic rosé blends 40% Chardonnay with 30% Pinot Meunier from the Vallée de la Marne and the southern slopes of Epernay and 30% Pinot Noir (with a small part added as red wine) from the Montagne de Reims and the Grande Vallée de la Marne. Fabulous. Tasted from lot L 142b804 45564, which is based on the 2015 harvest and 40% reserve wines and was disgorged in February 2018. Tasted November 2018. - Stephan Reinhardt, Wine Advocate. A lovely rosé in an almost vinous style, with mouthwatering acidity and a fine, lacy mousse carrying appealing flavors of ripe raspberry, white cherry fruit, star anise, mandarin orange peel and honeysuckle. Lightly chalky on the lasting finish. Enjoy with food. Drink now. - Alison Napjus, Wine Spectator. Pale orange. High-pitched red berry, orange zest and jasmine aromas, with suave mineral and smoky lees notes adding complexity. Spicy and precise on the palate, showing very good punch to its strawberry and bitter cherry flavors. Opens up smoothly with air and picks up a bitter rhubarb quality that lingers onto the long, tightly focused finish. This bottling showed more brawny character than many past renditions of this cuvée, but with no lack of vivacity. - Josh Raynolds, Vinous Media. The palest of rosés, this is an elegant, structured wine. Its dryness is balanced by the fine apple and red-currant fruits and the strong sense of minerality. Fragrant and lightly structured, this fine bottling is ready to drink. - Rv, Wine Enthusiast. Based on the 2019 vintage with 43% of reserve wines from the previous 5 years, the Billecart-Salmon Brut Rosé Nv is 43% Chardonnay, 33% of old vine Pinot Noir of which 7% is still for the blend, and 24% Pinot Meunier. Aromatically fresh and vibrant with bright, red berry, citrus peel and verbena blossom notes leading into a somewhat savory and lean, light to medium-bodied palate with lively acid coiling around oodles of citrus freshness and juicy raspberry notes before concluding with hints of marmalade and honey on the finish. Beautiful and balanced, it leaves you thirsty for another glass. Lot: L84478 - Sarah Mayo, Wine Independent. Currently based on the 2016 harvest, this is floral and citrussy, showing a lithe, graceful balance. It's a blend of 40% Chardonnay, 30% Pinot Noir and 30% Meunier, with about 40% of reserve wine, and red wine accounts for 7% of the blend. Its delicate, subtly expansive flavours of raspberry and strawberry are enlivened by a tangerine-like acidity, and while it feels ripe and full in flavour on the palate, it never loses its sense of refinement and poise, finishing with detailed length and depth. - Peter Liem, Decanter. Lovely stately strawberry fruit, baked apples, brioche and spice. Invigorating acidity, beautifully soft fizz, very gentle and elegant persistence. – Richard Hemming Mw, JancisRobinson.com
