Description: | The cast of Ehrlich's wine story includes three generations of family dating back to their first visit to the Napa Valley in 1967. Husband and wife, Cliff and Patricia, relocated with their 1-year-old daughter, Susan, to Southern California from the East Coast. It was upon a recommended trip to Wine Country by one of their new neighbors that their multi-generational success and way of life took shape. Napa Valley was quite different then from what it is now. There were only a handful of wineries dotting the landscape and the fervent flocking of tourists had yet to take flight. But visits became regular for them and it didn't take long for an immediate intrigue to develop into a passion after visiting a few of the earliest landmarks such as Charles Krug, Inglenook, and Robert Mondavi. With hearts and minds full of beautiful family memories and an astute evaluation of the literal and figurative landscape of what their lives could be, in 1998 Cliff and Patricia became vineyard owners in the heart of Oakville. Their 10.5-acre, valley-floor property shares neighborly boundaries and breathtaking views with Opus One, Nickel & Nickel, Swanson, Turnbull, and the new Favia-Hunneus property. Today, the extended family actively contributes to Ehrlich Vineyards' winegrowing achievements with consulting winemaker, Paul Hobbs, at the helm. The seven-acre parcel planted in three distinct blocks sets the stage for the flagship bottling with Block C being the lead actor and source of this carefully selected 100% Cabernet Sauvignon wine - ACME's new crush in Cab Country. |
