| Description: | 91 points Vinous. Good bright medium red. Subtle perfume of raspberry, rose petal and brown spices. Silky on entry, then dense, supple and fine-grained in the middle, with lovely detail and a light touch to the pungent berry and spice flavors. A step up in intensity and clarity from the Emerald Ridge Vineyard bottling. Finishes with very suave tannins and lingering floral lift. (st) (5/2012) 91 points Wine & Spirits. This wine's high-toned red fruit has the effusiveness of young cru Beaujolais. The smooth, rich texture brings it home to California, while notes of bright cherry and kelp zero in on Anderson Valley. Grill salmon steaks and toss some hijiki in with the salad. (8/2012). |
