Description: | Dense ruby colour with hints of garnet. Bouquet comprising blackcurrant conserve, spiced notes and forest fruit. Warm, complex, tannic palate with mild notes of vanilla. Ideal with grilled meats, roast lamb and pigeon, and mature cheeses. Made For The First Time In 1968, Vigorello Was The First Of A New Generation Of Tuscan Wines That Subsequently Became The Famous Supertuscans. Its Blend Is Predominantly Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot And Pugnitello, An Ancient Native Grape Revived By San Felice, With A Small Addition Of Petit Verdot. It Matures Some 20 Months In French Oak Barriques And Then 8-10 Months In The Bottle. Nominee: European Winery Of The Year. San Felice Today Is Producing Wine In Prestigious Wine Areas Of Tuscany, For A Total Of 210 Hectares Of Vineyards: San Felice At Castelnuovo Berardenga In Chianti Classico And Campogiovanni At Montalcino. San Felice Is An Historical Producer Famous For Its Chianti Classico, In Particular The Riserva ‘Il Grigio' And ‘Poggio Rosso', Its Brunello Di Montalcino And For The ‘Vigorello', The First Supertuscan In Chianti Classico. Since The ‘80s, San Felice Has Carried Out An Intense Program Of Research And Experimentation Which Has Led To The Recent Release Of ‘Pugnitello', A Red Wine From The Rediscover Of An Old Tuscan Grape. Furthermore, In 1990 San Felice Transformed Part Of The Hamlet Into A Charming Hotel, Which Immediately Became A Member Of The Prestigious Chain Of ‘Relais & Châteaux'. |
