Description: | History,. Karuizawa is a rare Japanese whisky that has become a collectors item over the years since the distillery closed in 2001. As Karuizawa is now available in limited supplies only, the price has soared and it is now the most expensive whisky in the world. Adored for its maturity and floral scent, the distillery aged it in sherry casks and used imported golden barley from Scotland. A rare and collectible Karuizawa release that was distilled in 2000, just three years before the distilleries closure, and matured in a sherry cask for 18 years before being bottled and released in 2018. Only 479 bottles of this rare whisky were released and much fewer remain in circulation today. Tasting Notes,.
