Joey Tensley Fundamental Pinot Noir
Vintage: | 2021 |

Description: | This Pinot Noir is reminiscent of the Lea Pinot many of you may remember (or possibly still have in your cellar). This is a Central Coast Pinot. The grapes were sourced from Santa Maria, the Sta. Rita Hills appellation, and Monterey. This wine shows power and depth, yet is also fresh and light on its feet, showing bright notes of raspberry and cherry, as well as a dusting of white pepper and exotic spice. The mouthfeel is velvety, with a long, lingering finish. Enjoy this wine now or over the next four to five years. "2021 is one of the best Pinot Noir vintages of all time! A super cool and moderate summer made for a wine that is bright with acid but had enough time to hang in the vineyard to gain color and power. The majority of the Pinot Noir comes from the acclaimed St Rita area giving the wine a beautiful red fruit component while the Santa Maria fruit gives it an unmistakable savory California pinot nose. Complex enough to make you think but still easy to drink. It's a drinkable wine but one that will go with so many types of dishes. Don't be afraid to test the waters with a big steak, this wine can handle it!" - Winery |
