Arzuaga Amaya Arzuaga Coleccion Ribera Del Duero

Vintage: 2017
Description: Tempranillo w/ a dash of Albillo Mayor. Wine Enthusiast 95 Points - "Deep garnet in the glass, this wine offers a bouquet of black cherry, mocha and aniseed. A layer of velvety tannins plays host to black cherry, blackberry, milk chocolate, freshly ground coffee, clove and lavender flavors. The lasting finish is marked with notes of chocolate and bright red berries." Mike DeSimone. "Grapes from centuries-old pre-phylloxera vineyards in the Ribera del Duero, located on sandstone and alluvial soils complemented by limestone soils at high altitudes, combine their best qualities, achieving spectacular results. The clusters of Tempranillo and Albillo Mayor grapes, which still have their stems, rest in a French oak vat, where the fermentation takes place. The aromatic complexity of this wine will arrive after the 19 months spent in French oak barrels. The result is incredible, a contrast thats as interesting as it is flavourful on the palate. The nose is complex, featuring floral aromas with the true nuances of Ribera del Duero Tempranillo. This is a red to enjoy in good company, from the first glass right down to the last drop, thanks to its elegance and depth on the palate, with a great balance that invites you to keep drinking. Complex and voluminous, it leaves creamy and velvety sensations. Its a perfect wine for celebrating life. Also characterised by a hint of rebelliousness, this Amaya Arzuaga 2017 not only pairs perfectly with great classics, such as roast suckling lamb, but also with more daring dishes. Its a great match for beef cheeks with liquorice and Parmentier potatoes or to accompany Asian cuisine why not try it alongside a tasty soup such as a spicy Japanese ramen or flavourful Vietnamese pho? Or how about with some luscious Mexican tacos with cochinita pibil, the slow-roasted pork typical of the Yucatn Peninsula?" - Winery Notes
