| Description: | Lionel Faury is the son of Phillipe, continuing his father's tradition of making wines that express the purity of the fruit rather than the character of oak. This comes from one Côte Rôtie vineyard called Fourvier which is dominated by schist soils. Fermentation sees retention of 20% stems and then the wine is aged for 15 months in large oak barrels. It's ripe and really concentrated, with aromas of blackberry and wild flowers and a firm tannic structure. Drink now-2030. |
