Uniquely we add bonarda to the red blend a european variety that thrives in argentina. Commonly known as charbono in the united states bonarda adds intense color dried fruit character and classic savory notes of leather and black olives. Cabernet sauvignon adds rich berry and slight herbal notes while intriguingly spicy black pepper and blueberry notes come from syrah. The red blend wine consists of 65% malbec 16% bonarda 10% cabernet sauvignon and 9% syrah. Despite a cold and wet vintage in 2014 alamos winemakers were able to bring in highly concentrated fruit with incredible acidity and tannin structure as well as intense aromatics due to 2014's cool conditions.
