Lobo Wulff Vineyards Cabernet Sauvignon Oak Knoll District Napa Valley

Vintage: 2017
Description: Our Story: Husband and wife team Krys and Randy Wulff have been growing premium grapes in Napa Valley for over 20 years, selling to many well-known wineries such as Lewis Cellars and Mumm. The Wulffs hand select areas in their estate vineyards from which they make their own signature wines under the LOBO label, the Spanish word for "wolf.". Vineyard: This wine is made from 100% Cabernet Sauvignon estate-grown in the Oak Knoll appellation of Napa Valley. The vineyard soil is gravelly loam. Aggressive pruning and lower yields produce rich, concentrated flavors. Our Winemaker: Victoria Coleman is a rising star who makes all of LOBO's red wines and has worked at Chateau Mouton Rothschild. Winemaker Notes: This 100% Cabernet Sauvignon from Oak Knoll District is fermented in stainless steel. It is then aged for 18 months in French oak, 65% new. Tasting Notes: Aroma: Plum, black cherry, and hints of sandalwood and nutmeg. Mouthfeel: Tannins are round and grainy with a creamy texture, which are in harmony with good acidity. Flavors: Cassis, blackberry and black licorice followed by a long caramel finish.
