| Description: | Taylor Fladgate's "Fine Ruby" is a blend of local varieties ( Touriga Nacional, Touriga Franca, Tinta Barroca, Tinta Roriz, Tinto Cão, and Tinta Amarela). To produce Port, fermentation is halted by the addition of grape spirits before all the residual sugar has been fermented, resulting in a sweet, fortified wine.This f ull-bodied Port aged for around two years in large oak vats to gain smoothness and elegance while retaining its fruitiness, intensity and youthful ruby color. Enjoy aromas and flavors of sweet cherries, cassis, black plums, and red fruit jam with supple tannins. With its firm tannins and concentrated fruitiness, Fine Ruby is perfect for the classic port-and-cheese combination. It is particularly good with blue-veined and salty soft cheeses. It also pairs well with berries and dark chocolate. |
