Pyramid Valley Pinot Noir

Pyramid Valley Pinot Noir

Vintage: 2017
Winery: Pyramid Valley
Description: 92 pts Wine Advocate March 2019 The new owners have expanded Pyramid Valley's production to include an offering from their vineyard in Central Otago. Formerly known as Lowburn Ferry, it's been renamed Manata. The 2017 Pinot Noir delivers bold black cherry and subtle earthy notes, a medium to full-bodied palate and hints of mocha and plum. With its suave, silky texture, it's drinkable now, but it shows the concentration and length to drink well through 2026. 93 pts Wine Enthusiast November 2019 The first release of Central Otago Pinot from this winery is expressive and approachable, a balanced combo of ripe wild strawberries, tar, mushrooms, dried violets and ground savory spices. Fine, sandy tannins, crunchy acidity and a silky texture flow towards a long savory and floral finish. 93 pts Wine Spectator 11/30/19 Powerful yet restrained, featuring a core of black cherry, pomegranate and wild strawberry flavors, fleshy and appealing, with accents of sarsaparilla, black pepper and fresh loamy earth. Shows plenty of momentum on the finish. Drink now through 2029. 500 cases made, 200 cases imported.
