Another magical hit by the Bereche brothers with lieux-dit Pinot Noir from a teeny, tiny plot of Les Tourets in Ambonnay, arguably the best site for Pinot Noir in Champagne. Right out the gate, it is full of dense, rich bouquet of red/pink skinned apples, rose petals, wild strawberries, stemmy spice bordering on baking that is round, creamy, and luscious on the palate. There is a concentrated energy that is waiting to escape so don't be afraid to decant if drinking soon. If not, sit on it and let the aging do its thing. |
