Description: | Both the Marsanne and the Roussanne, known for offering fragrance and finesse, are grown in McLaren Vale where the Mediterranean climate expressed by winter dominant rainfall and dry summers makes it one of the most consistent climates for grape production. A portion of the Viognier also comes from McLaren Vale although 50% is sourced from Langhorne Creek, one of the older wine growing regions in Australia. Producer The Chook, the Australian term for chicken, represents wines that bring people together. Careful vineyard selection teamed with exceptional winemaking and an emphasis on consistent varietal expression hatches wines with approachability generosity and character that really are something to cluck about. Fruit for these wines come from premium grape growing regions in South Australia, including McLaren Vale, Langhorne Creek, and Padthaway. The region overall boasts an ideal climate for vine cultivation, with plenty of sunshine in the summer months and mild winters with a good amount of rainfall. Langhorne Creek is one of the oldest wine growing regions in Australia, with first vine plantings dating back to the 1850s. |
