Vintage: 2020
Winery: Château Ste. Michelle
Description: Chateau Ste. Michelle of Washington State has a long history of winegrowing. Built on the 1912 estate owned by Seattle lumber baron Frederick Stimson, the winery's roots date back to the Repeal of Prohibition. In 1967 under legendary California winemaker Andre Tchelistcheff, a new line of premium vinifera wines was introduced called Ste. Michelle Vintners. This vineyard, Cold Creek, was planted in eastern Washington in 1972. And then, four years later, Ste. Michelle Vintners built a French style winery Chateau in Woodinville, and changed its name to Chateau Ste. Michelle. This wine is made from one of Washington's oldest and most acclaimed vineyards : Cold Creek Vineyard. Character builds season after season in the growth rings of the old woody vines. Sun-drenched growing conditions with low rainfall result in small berries with full-bodied flavors. This Cabernet has broad-shouldered structure, concentrated fruit characters and deep color, perfect to pair with beef, hearty pastas and aged cheddar cheese. 100% Cold Creek Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon Aged for 18 months in 40% new French oak, 5% new American oak and 55% neutral oak 14.8% alcohol.
