This brandy, over 25 years old, is the result of a blend of excellent holandas (distillates) and aguardientes (distilled wine liquor) matured in American oak casks that had previously held Oloroso wines from the stocks of Bodegas Tradicin. The brandy is qualified and classified as Solera Gran Reserva, but since this classification is awarded to any brandy three years in age or older, it does not reflect the true quality of the spirit inside. Tasting Notes,. Nose: Roasted hazelnuts, almonds and hints of smoke. Deep spicy notes (cloves, nutmeg, hints of cinnamon bark) balanced by dark chocolate, prune jam and sticky toffee. Palate: Big oaky notes, which mixes with caramel, raisins, prunes and walnuts to form a bittersweet profile. Smooth and concentrated at the same time. Hints of herbal extracts (thyme, sage) and cough syrup. Some liquorice as well. |
