A.A. Badenhorst White Blend (750ML)
From Swartland
Vintage: | 2009 |
---|---|
Description: | 92 Ws. Concentrated and still youthfully tight, with bitter almond and toasted brioche notes still not fully melded into the core of Jonagold apple, creamed melon, quince and white peach. There's good cut on the finish though, with plenty of buried acidity. Should round into form soon enough. Chenin Blanc, Roussanne and others. 150 cases imported. - James Molesworth. A bit of a kitchen sink blend: 29% Chenin Blanc, 23% Roussanne, 11% Viognier, 11% Chardonnay, 10% Grenache Blanc, 5% Colombar, 5% Grenache Gris, 2% Semillon, 2% Verdelho, and 2% Clairette Blanche. The nose is lush and exotic with notes of honey, quince, figs, puffed pastry like Baklava. On the palate, the texture is full and ripe, reminiscent of poached pear and spice. Lovely! - Christine Havens, Gvwm staff |
