| Description: | In 2007, one year after Drew's retirement from the Nfl, the Bledsoe family launched Doubleback, an estate focused winery that produces world-class Cabernet Sauvignon from the Walla Walla Valley, Drew's hometown. It has now been more than ten years since the Bledsoe's set out on this immensely rewarding adventure. Throughout those years they patiently cultivated a vision for the future. With unwavering enthusiasm for the Walla Walla Valley, they have made the decision to create Bledsoe Family Winery – a sister project to Doubleback. They have strategically developed four estate vineyards – McQueen, Bob Healy, Lefore, and most recently, Flying B in Walla Walla — each with its own exceptional set of characteristics. At the same time, they have also established long-term sources from some of the valley's oldest and most revered blocks of vines from highly respected estates. For these reasons, they are compelled to push the boundaries to realize new wine varietals and to expand upon the standard of high-level wine growing and winemaking they have become known for. The Bledsoe family has been blessed with a rich history of which each of their labels reference, incredibly loyal and supportive customers, and an extremely talented and dedicated team – led by winemaker Josh McDaniels. Josh on the 2019 : 'It seems like yesterday that we were knee-deep, quite literally, in the 2019 harvest. Dark ruby in the glass, it opens up aromatically in the same fashion. Dark fruits like blackberry and Bing Cherry, followed up by graphite, wood shavings, and baking spice. Ultra-balanced with long, fine-tannins and great acidity. The finish on this wine is incredible - which is something that I love about great Cabernet. Drink now through the next 15-20 years.' |
