| Description: | History: The first release of Willett Wheated Bourbon was distilled in the early Spring of 2013 and bottled in the Summer of 2022. The proprietary mashbill is barreled at 115 proof in Char# 4 American Oak. We bottle without chill-filtration to preserve the most flavor possible. Tasting Notes:. Nose: Big flavours of vanilla, fudge and burnt caramel come first, followed by peppermint, rye and a touch of leather. Some notes of sawdust are there, too, giving this a musty touch that adds complexity. Palate: The palate is full-bodied and just a little bit spicy. The vanilla flavours are back, now together with notes of honey, oranges and a touch of black tea. Later on, distinct notes of cinnamon and peppermint develop. Finish: The finish is long and warming. |
