| Description: | John Gilman 94 Points - "Vincent Meunier told me that he retained ten percent of the stems in the Clos Vougeot this year, and I am not sure if this made a dramatic difference or not in the wine, but the 2008 Hudelot Clos Vougeot is flat out spectacular. The bouquet is deep, pure and brilliant, as it offers up a vibrant mlange of sappy black cherries, a touch of black raspberry, bitter chocolate, incipient notes of the game to come, a magically complex base of soil and a deft touch of vanillin oak. On the palate the wine is deep, full-bodied and very complex, with a sappy core of fruit, ripe, well-integrated tannins, laser-like focus and great grip on the long and very tangy finish. This is a very classy and profound bottle of Clos Vougeot in the making." |
