Chateau Pedesclaux Pauillac 1.5Ltr
Vintage: | 2009 |

Description: | Another top billing for this fifth growth with limited distribution and even more limited reputation. But the Pédesclaux of today is a very different property and wine to that run by the Jugla family. In 2009 it was bought by estate agent Jacky Lorenzetti, who entrusted the management to Vincent Mulliez of Ch Bellevue. After Mulliez' death, Vincent Bache- Gabrielsen took over. In the past few years the Lorenzettis have added 15 hectares to the existing 26ha, enabling greater selection of grapes. Stephen Brook Subtle, elegant cassis nose. Rich, dense and compact, with fine depth of fruit. Concentrated and brooding, with complex hints of mocha and chocolate as well as black fruits. There's much underlying elegance too, and a fine balance of tannin and acidity. A bit subdued now, but this has class and persistence. Very good length. Alun Griffiths Mw Lovely nose of ripe black fruits; harmonious and beguiling. Very fine on the palate with lots of ripeness allied to fine-grained tannins and balancing acidity. Rich, beautifully structured, classic and profound. Steven Spurrier Lovely fragrance of cassis fruit plus a hint of violets. Very good natural ripeness on the palate – already quite smooth with richness and natural tannins to add depth and complexity. A beautiful, feminine Pauillac. Drinking Window 2015 - 2040. |
