Moulin Riche (750ML)

From Saint-Julien

Vintage: 2023
Description: 93-94 JS / 93 Ja / 92-93 Vm / 91-93 Jd / 90-92 Wa. Pretty density and richness this year, with blackberry, blueberry and dark-chocolate aromas. Medium-bodied with a solid core of fruit, creamy tannins and a long, caressing finish. Fresh. Nicely framed by the tannins. A blend of 49% cabernet sauvignon, 33% merlot and 18% petit verdot. - James Suckling. Great quality, and likely to be great value, wine, combining unfussy and fully ripe fruit with supple tannins and a dash of gourmet grilled cocoa bean edging. One to look out for. 3.7ph, Isabelle Danvin winemaker, Julien Viaud consultant, cellar master Didier Thormann. 52hl/h yields, biggest since 2004. - Jane Anson. The 2023 Moulin Riche is a juicy, plush Saint-Julien. There's a good bit of Merlot in the blend, and that comes through in the wine's supple personality. Plush tannins wrap around a core of black cherry, plum, licorice, lavender, spice, menthol and mocha. The 2023 is a very sexy wine. - Antonio Gallo, Vinous Media. The 2023 Château Moulin Riche checks in as 49% Cabernet Sauvignon, 33% Merlot, and 18% Petit Verdot. It has a terrific nose of savory red (and hints of blue) fruit, savory herbs, tobacco, and floral nuances. This carries to a medium-bodied Saint-Julien with a supple, layered mouthfeel, fine tannins, and beautiful overall balance. It's another beautiful, elegant Médoc with tons to love. - Jeb Dunnuck. Aromas of dark berries, cassis, orange zest and toasty oak introduce the 2023 Moulin Riche, a medium to full-bodied, layered and textural wine that's rich and concentrated, with a dense core of fruit and good integration at this early stage. - William Kelley, Wine Advocate
