Vintage: | 2009 |

Description: | Freisa, a Piedmontese varietal, that has apparent history tracing it back to being the granfather of his majesty nebbiolo. It is an everyday wine, now and for many years past, of the Monferrato region. Traditionally the wine has been made as "vivace" slightly fizzy but very dry and at Casalone the prefer to continue this tradition. The color is a ruby red with purple hues. The wine has a distinct violet nose, a taste of red and black currants with round tannins and lively acidity. Goes well with cheeses, charcuteries, minestrone soups or by itself as an aperitif. |
