| Description: | "The Felettig parcel in les Carrières is also fairly old vines, with the vineyard between 50 and 60 years of age. I was wondering if this would be able to follow on the heels of the superb les Fuées, but the wine had absolutely no difficulty holding its own and is another stellar bottle of Chambolle in the making. The excellent nose is a blend of black cherries, pomegranate, stony soil tones, a touch of chocolate, woodsmoke, gamebirds and vanillin oak. On the palate the wine is pure, full-bodied and shows off lovely mid-palate depth, with fine-grained tannins, excellent focus and grip and a long, minerally and nascently complex finish. Another absolutely complete Chambolle premier cru, all the 2013 Carrières from the Felettigs needs is time in the cellar to blossom." John Gilman, View From The Cellar #56, Apr 2015 |
