| Description: | All five of the Eyrie Estate vineyards are certified organic. The oldest vines in the Willamette Valley are also among the last surviving vines of the Draper selection, a French import from the 1930s now extinct outside of the Willamette Valley region. Picked by hand, the grapes were pressed in a combination of antique basket press and Champagne cycle press. Juice was run to neutral French oak barrels on the lees for 11 months without stirring, and bottled with a light filtration. Robert Parker's Wine Advocate 97 Points - "The 2021 Chardonnay Estate offers exotic aromas of ripe peaches, honey, pie crust, tangerine oil and musky floral perfume. The medium-bodied palate is satiny and expansive with an impressively concentrated core of spicy fruit. Its broad, mouth-coating texture is balanced by fireworks of fresh acidity, and it has a long, spicy finish with flavor that goes on and on." |
