| Description: | Organically Grown Grapes. " Wild herbs, rose, lavender and sour cherry can all be found in the glass as the 2020 Montepulciano d'Abruzzo Anfora slowly comes to life. This floods the palate with masses of mineral-tinged red fruits under a pretty violet floral air, while brisk acids create an almost-crunchy sensation. This wine is lightly structured with grippy tannins, yet the mouth is left watering for more as a hint of orange oil slowly fades. Nicely done." - Erin Guido, Vinous Media. Francesco Cirelli is a low intervention winemaker, resulting in a simple and sincere expression of the land of Abruzzo. Fermented spontaneously and aged in clay vessels (amphorae), it has a delicate and light bouquet of small red fruits and wild herbs and a fresh, savory and very drinkable palate. Filtered but not fined, and low in total sulphites. |
