| Description: | In the short 2012 harvest - after and equally light 2011 - most of the "value" has been chased out of red Burgundy. So we were pretty shocked, and really delighted, to discover this lovely Bourgogne Rouge from Gevrey Chambertin's well-respected Dom Frederic Esmonin. Pretty aromas of red berries, cherry, wildflower, and earth lead to pure flavors of red fruit, spice, and floral accents. Light in texture but very flavorful, the fine tannins and bright sour cherry acidity provide just enough structure for food or a year or two in cellar. A fantastic value in authentic, delicious, 2012 Burgundy. |
