Keenan has shown remarkable passion and commitment with regards to not just putting Arizona vines on the map but truly discovering and utilizing all the potential for growth in this relatively untapped appellation. As proprietor of Caduceus, he has amassed a collection of wonderfully unconventional wines, and the Anubis is fantastic addition. The Anubis blend is composed primarily of Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Sauvignon with a bit of Syrah and Sangiovese to round it out. Aromas of currant, sweet tobacco, and anise are striking, with some cedar and graphite in the background. The mouth-feel is muscular and dense, with silky tannins and a lingering finish. 2006 marks a transitional year for Caduceus Cellars as they move from sourcing mainly from California fruit to relying mainly on Arizona fruit.
