Even though it's Stone's entry level wine, it's not simple; instead it reflects the shallow soils of the Eola–Amity Hills in all their mineral tension: The wine is bright and tightly packed, weaving rose-petal notes and whole-cluster spice with dark plum-skin flavors. It sustains a lovely vibrancy of flavor, grounded and direct.". Winery Notes: Avni is a Stone family name that means "my stone" or "mother earth." Avni Pinot Noir reflects the complex flavor profile of Eola-Amity Hills fruit, born of rocky, volcanic soils on the hillside vineyards of the Willamette Valley. The wine is medium bodied but offers surprising depth and structure. Floral, smoky, mineral and red cherry, black plum fruit tones meld into a long silky finish. |
