| Description: | Primitivo is, of course, Italy's equivalent to Zinfandel, but it does have different characteristics which causes California producers to experiment with it. Ripening earlier than Zinfandel, it gets even beefier: this juicy example is rich and ripe with jammy strawberries, raspberries, and blueberries, velvety and smooth, held together by firm tannins, judicious new oak, and lively acidity. Very attractive. |
